Nordic Home Interiors Announces Store Closing

While the store on West 58th Street is shutting its doors, its rug business will be continuing online.

Southwest Minneapolis' go-to-spot for Scandinavian home furnishings, Nordic Home Interiors, will be closing its retail showroom in late June.

The business, located at 620 W. 58th St., was founded in 2001 by Orlyn and Marit Kringstad, according to the store's website

In a recent e-mail newsletter, the owners wrote:

"Exciting changes will soon be happening here at Nordic Home Interiors. During the month of June we will be closing our Minneapolis retail location. ...

"This will be a big change and a new chapter in Nordic Home Interiors as well as our lives. We are ready to slow down a bit and smell the roses."

While the retail showroom is closing, the business will still live on online The newsletter also stated that the business would continue the custom rug portion of its business through its website.

A store closing sale is on now until June 22. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information on Nordic Home Interiors, go to nordic-home.com/.
