ReplyMayor Roe, tell me this! If the council had pretty much made up their minds back in December that the working relationship with Mr. Mallinen had deteriated to the point of relieving him from his duties right then why not fire him then instead of giving him the option to resign, which came 5 months later! You owe the taxpayers of Roseville an explanation!

ReplyI suppose because of state data privacy laws we'll never find out the real reasons why now former city manager Mallinen resigned so quickly today! Only the council and a few other folks at city hall know the answer and they aren't talking!!! The citizens of Roseville have the right to know!!!

ReplyThe pressure from having used poor judgement on many decisiions according to many residences finally wore Mr. Mallinen down! The big one was his suggestion to use "Port Authority" to approve the funding for the fire station and Park & Rec. improvements. Enjoy your severance check!

Big_Phish, your point is well taken! The "Political Winds" of today frighten many people, almost like changing up and making new rules to a traditional board game you played for years. Our constitution was written with the main theme being "equal protection under the law" and the pursuit of life, liberty & the pursuit of Happiness. However, in this modern day of political grandstanding and one-upping his or her opponent can the majority party, in this case MN Democrats dictate policy for the multitude of traditionalist like myself who still agree that the word "Marriage" should be between a man and a women, religious views or not. It was the way I was raised and what I strongly to this day still believe! The answer as we found out yesterday is yes they can change the law! Our democracy is not a perfect one and I don't ever think our Forefathers ever intended it to be! We are a nation made up of people from other countries
who have differing beliefs, traditions and political points of view! Like it or not, the US Constitution is our countries Bible and if not abused can as we witnessed yesterday be used very civilly. Blessings to all! -

ReplyThat won't be changing anytime soon, because unless there is some kind of professional misconduct which might affect an administrator or teacher keeping ones job, it is strictly left to the school board, heavily influenced by the superintendent to make the decision who will be moving laterally within the district. Like it or not, the trust factor needs to remain unless the masses say otherwise!

ReplyNow comes the fun part for city planners & council. What businesses in the future are going to want to build next to the new Walmart at Twin Lakes. Certainly not more retail outlets as the "Walton Family Hicksters" will just gobble them up and spit them out! Also, to say that Walmart gives back to there communities, making them "civically responsible" and "community minded" is one great big joke! What, so they can get a tax right off! P-leeeeeease Ms. Nelson do not insult our intelligence! By the way Mayor Roe, nice suit and tie. Did you purchase it at Walmart for the occasion!

ReplyI've come to the conclusion that no matter what the average citizen thinks is in the best interest of there cities it stills goes unheard of from govt. officials. The reason? Big money talks and bull-cookie walks!

Senator Pappas, why are we pushing unionizing at-home daycares! Don't we have more important bills to look at like a fair and equitable budget bill?
