  As I live on Xerxes between 50 th and 51st, I can assure you that on street parking is already scarce, but it is the alley behind our homes that is a nightmare. Strangers, racing to to the coffee shop mostly, use our alley like a drag strip. In summer there are speed bumps, but the rest of the year, one must be very careful not to get mowed down. I doubt people know that in Minneapolis, it is ILLEGAL to drive on an alley on which one does not reside. ("Residents and service vehicles only...")

  What I want to know is: why do we bother having a law that requires a public referendum if something is going to cost more than $10M in public funds, and it is never utilized???? Because the powers that wanted to ram this billionaire's boondoggle down Minneapolis taxpayer's throats knew it would never pass! Just sayin'
