POLL: Should Minneapolis Teachers Be Allowed Guns In School?
Seward Montessori staffer brought a pistol yesterday.
Wednesday, Seward Montessori was put on lockdown after administrators learned that a staff member had brought a gun to school. The staff member was keeping the loaded gun in a locked locker, according to an email statement from Minneapolis Public Schools. "There was no evidence that the employee intended to use the weapon; however, bringing a gun to school is against Minnesota law, violates MPS policy and creates a potentially unsafe situation," the statement read. The district called police around 8:30 a.m. when the weapon's existance was revealed. The staffer was removed from the building and placed on administrative leave.
