Arrest Made in SW Minneapolis Robbery

Kevin Lamarr Mason arrested after shooting on the Northside.

Monday, the Minneapolis Police Department announced it had arrested an 18-year old Minneapolis man in connection with two armed robberies. According to a statement posted on the department's Facebook page, Kevin Lamarr Mason was arrested after attempting to rob two Northside residents at gunpoint on the 3700 block of Emerson Avenue North on Jan. 9. When one of his victims tried to run, he allegedly shot the man in the leg. Police arrested Mason shortly thereafter based on a detailed physical description provided by the victims. In the same statement, police said Mason's prints matched those left at the scene of an armed robbery on the 3400 block of Colfax Avenue South last week. Police Nab Walgreens Robber In SW Minneapolis

Suspect hit Walgreens stores in Uptown and Hopkins before being arrested in Minneapolis' Windom neighborhood.

Wednesday afternoon, Minneapolis police announced the arrest of Vincent Mark Smith, 25, in the robberies of several Walgreens pharmacies earlier this month. According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 23 Smith flashed a handgun at a cashier at the Walgreens on the 2400 block of Hennepin Ave. South, and demanded Ativan and Klonopin—prescription drugs used to treat anxiety, insomnia, seizures and panic attacks—and Percocet, a prescription painkiller that includes oxycodone. Minneapolis Police say they suspect Smith was the man behind a Nov. 16 robbery of a Walgreens on the 3200 block of West Lake Street, as well as the Nov. 20 robbery of a Walgreens in the 500 block of Blake Road North in Hopkins.
