You Don't Want To Know What This Controls

Large industrial equipment—beautiful or disgusting?

While the Lyndale Avenue Bridge gets rebiuilt, all kinds of things are coming out of the ground, from old mill ruins to modern infrastructure. Most of these archaeological finds are worth investigating further, but these two long, black snakes winding their way through the woods along Minnehaha Creek probably won't do much for you. Though the valves may seem pretty to some, they're in fact controlling the flow of sewage!
