Restaurant's Online Fundraising Wildly Successful

The Lynn on Bryant, Butter Bakery Cafe seeking community help.

Well, that didn't take too long. Only a few weeks after announcing to their fans that they wanted to give people an opportunity to contribute to a new Lynnhurst restaurant that hopes to become a community gathering space, The Lynn on Bryant has surged far past its goals on the Kickstarter fundraising website. In less than 30 days, they've raised over $4,000 beyond than their $25,000 target, from 200-plus people. When co-owners Jay Peterson and Peter Ireland first launched their fundraising project, Peterson told Patch that the goal was two-fold. "This is a way to help us through the stretch run, but also to galvanize the support of even more friends, family members and—most importantly—our new neighbors," he said. "And to reward them for …

Butter Bakery Seeking Help To Move

The Lyndale favorite is moving to Kingfield.

After six years of rollicking success, Butter Bakery Cafe is headed to new digs, a block south and a few blocks east, to be precise. As Southwest Minneapolis Patch reported earlier this year, the popular bakery and cafe—and winner of a Patch Reader's Choice award for best coffee shop—is hoping to open in a space on the first floor of Nicollet Square, on the corner of 37th Street and Nicollet Avenue South. According to owner Daniel Swenson-Klatt, the new space will offer a more spacious kitchen, more seating (always in short supply at Butter), the ability to make ice cream, and best of all, the ability to offer mentoring programs to the new location's upstairs neighbors, who are predominantly youth tranitioning out of homelessness or foster…
