While waiting for Kingfield's hotly anticipated tapas bar Rincon 38, you can introduce yourself to the traditional Spanish meal at First Course. The eatery, recently reviewed in The Heavy Table, is located across the street from Todd Park in the Diamond-Lake neighborhood. Alongside a full menu, First Course offers a small range of tapas for $4 to $11. Diners can find traditional fare like marinated olives, but most of the tapas are not-too-traditional—combinations like honey garlic baby back pork ribs with soy, ginger, and chili oil or grilled asparagus with balsamic and thin onion rings.
