From Newbie To Champion

Southwest resident Kristen Millner helped raise almost $500 for the Midtown Greenway Coalition after re-discovering bicycling.

In only a few months, Southwest Minneapolis resident Kristen Millner went from rarely biking to raising $500 to support the Midtown Greenway, a major thoroughfare for local cyclists. "I actually had not ever been on the Greenway" before a few months ago, she said. On her first ride, Millner said she came across a representative of the Midtown Greenway Coalition signing up participants for the organization's Sept. 24 Greenway Challenge, an anual fundraising ride. "I know that the group works to make (the Greenway) accessable and safe for people the whole year," she explained. "A lot of people count on it to be plowed in the winter, for it to be safe."
