Rep. Keith Ellison is adding his voice to those of protestors demonstrating outside the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC. The protestors—organized, in part, by Occupy Our Homes—argue that bankers haven’t been held accountable for financial misdeeds. Officers caught up with the three suspects at 48th and Aldrich in Southwest Minneapolis May 15.
Three Minneapolis men have been charged, each with one count, of second-degree felony burglary in relation a May 15 incident in Maple Grove. Ronald Desean Harris, 26, of Minneapolis; Sherrick Machon Catchings, 24, of Minneapolis; and Jamal Ajaun Clay-Smith, 22, of Minneapolis, were charged in Hennepin County Court May 17 in connection with the alleged home burglary in Maple Grove. Harris also faces a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. There have been five luring incidents in the Fifth Precinct in since May 2.
There have been five attempted luring incidents in Minneapolis' Fifth Precinct (Southwest Minneapolis) since May 2, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Investigators are looking into the incidents, with patrol officer conducting directed patrol, and foot and bicycle patrols in the affected areas. The following information on the incidents was released by the police department Monday: -May 2 58th St W/Lyndale Av S 8:45 a.m.-a white male, 40-45yo, 5’8”-5’11” wearing a gray and white winter jacket and light blue or off-white khaki pants approached a 13yo female victim on foot and said, “Hello.” He then tried to block her path. Officers caught up with and arrested the three suspects' vehicle at 48th and Aldrich, according to Maple Grove police.
A police pursuit of burglary suspects ended with their arrests in Southwest Minneapolis Wednesday after starting in Maple Grove and continuing through Dayton, Champlin, Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, according to authorities. Officers finally stopped the suspects' vehicle at W. 48th Street and Aldrich Avenue S., Maple Grove Police Capt. Keith Terlinden said. The pursuit was not at high speeds. The incident comes five days after a motorcyclist died in a collision with a Minneapolis police vehicle that was rushing to the scene of a shooting in which two officers were injured and a burglary suspect killed.
