San Miguel Middle School of Minneapolis
612-870-1109
Although this private school started in a renovated warehouse space, it's recently earned its accredidation from the Minnesota Nonpublic Schools Accrediting Association and is now located in the Kingfield neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis. The school's mission is to help Latino students in Minneapolis succeed academically, while preserving Catholic culture and values. Despite high dropout rates for Latino youth in Minneapolis, the school's graduates are more than twice as likely to stay in high school than average.
