Patisserie 46 has been open less than a year but is already a local favorite. At lunch, the outdoor seating is filled with people enjoying the quiche and pumpkin soup, or skipping lunch altogether in favor of desserts and coffee. Patisserie 46 specializes in small pastries more often seen in Europe. Macaroons, gelato, small cakes, croissants, brownies and eclairs burst with flavor and often feature more adventurous mixes of flavors than what is typically seen in a Minneapolis bakery. Owner Jon Kraus has been named a top 10 pastry chef by Pastry Art and Design magazine and has gone on to recieve rave reviews locally.
