Ideally we would perform an oral prophylaxis on our pets every six months just like us. Think about it: we brush our mouths at least twice maybe three times daily and we floss at least once daily. How often do we brush our pet’s mouth? By the time we are doing an oral prophylaxis on most of our patients, we’re truly in more of a treatment mode and having to address some sort of pathology.
