It's getting warm out! Protect your pet from the heat.

There are many dangers of heat with dogs, be sure to find out what they are!

As the season gets warmer, remember that dogs can become over-heated easily. Dog don't perspire like people do, so they don't release extra body heat very efficiently. Our loyal companions often don't want to stop in the middle of a run or long walk, so it can be hard to know if they're getting dangerously warm and risking hyperthermia (abnormally high body temperature) or "heat stroke." This condition can quickly result in life threatening damage to a dog's blood circulation. Preventing overexposure to heat is important. On warm days, make sure to bring fresh water along, offer it to your dog and take lots of breaks in the shade or air conditioning. On hot, humid days, it might be best to shorten or skip exercising your dog. And never leave a dog in a parked car, even with the windows open.
