With the end of the school year just around the corner and listless college students already returning to Southwest Minneapolis’s tree-lined streets, it's a good time for teens and young adults to start looking for summer jobs.

What are you doing or what are your kids doing to find summer jobs? Do you have patented secrets for getting choice jobs? Family connections? Websites beside Craigslist? Pounding on doors armed with resumes? Extortion? What’s worked for you?

Here’s Patch’s roundup of a few seasonal positions local employers are looking to fill:

Cheese cutter: “Responsibilities include selling cheese, making sandwiches, stocking, packing, and cleaning.

France 44 prep cook: “Applicants should have experience working in a scratch kitchen.”

Brew pub server: “The Herkimer is looking to fill serving positions for a busy summer ahead.”

Ice cream vendor: Part-time position at Sonny's Ice Cream Cart and Crema Cafe on Nicollet Mall.

Social networker: “A business group looking for a paid intern to do social networking via Facebook and Twitter.”
