Registration Opens for Minneapolis 'Hot Dam 5K'

The run helps support the Minneapolis Firework Fund for the city's Fourth of July festivities.

The City of Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board is inviting locals to "run for the boom" during the Hot Dam 5K run on July 3.

The event helps support the Minneapolis Firework Fund for the two-day Minneapolis Red, White and Boom Fourth of July celebration.

The Fourth of July celebration is held at sites along the downtown Minneapolis riverfront, and features live music, food, family activies and, of course the grand finale fireworks display.

The following information is from the MPRB, detailing the Hot Dam 5K event:

Take in the beautiful view of the Minneapolis skyline as you enjoy a comfortable walk or run on the most scenic course in Minneapolis, which includes historic Main Street and the Stone Arch Bridge. Funds raised will benefit future Red, White and Boom 4th of July Celebrations in Minneapolis!  After Party includes free outdoor concert by Rogue Valley and movie, Top Gun.  All participants 21 and older will recieve a free beer from Harriet Brewing.

 Pre-Registration:

*Adult $30 (includes FREE Technical T-shirt & one FREE beer)
*Youth $10 (includes FREE Technical T-shirt)

Race Day Registration:
Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park

*Adult $40
*Youth $15

*Pre-registration closes June 28, 2013
