Movies and Music in Minneapolis Parks: June 3-9, 2013

Movies are planned for next weekend in Southwest Minneapolis.

All the following information was provided by the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board.

Grab the family or a few friends and head out to area lakes and parks for some summer fun.

The following is information on movies and music in area parks for the week of Monday, June 3 through Sunday, June 9:

Music

Lake Harriet Bandshell 

Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Monday, June 3: BBB Jazz Orchestra
  • Big Band Standards.
Tuesday, June 4: The Bad Companions
  • High energy rockabilly and swinging blues.
Wednesday, June 5: Edina Chorale
  • Hit songs 1930s thrus 1960s.
Thursday, June 6: RAMM
  • Real American Made Music.
Friday, June 7: New Primitives
  • Four-time Minnesota Music Award winners.
Saturday, June 8: Saddle Sores
  • Classic country of the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
Sunday, June 9: Apollo Male Chorus
  • Male vocal ensemble. *Begins at 2 p.m.
Sunday, June 9: Minneapolis Police Band
  • Popular, well known concert music. *Begins at 5:30 p.m.
NE Minneapolis

Shows start at 7 p.m.


Monday, June 3 at Nicollet Island Pavilion: Redemption Alley Band
  • Indie Rock Americana.
Tuesday, June 4 at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park: Dave Dougherty
  • Jazz, blues, rock, acoustic guitar.
Minnehaha Falls Park

Shows start at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, June 5: Nordic Surf
  • Instrumental Surf/Rock.
Thursday, June 6: Michelle Lynn
  • Folk rock singer, songwriter and guitarist.
Friday, June 7:Kerns and the Hemispheres
  • Alternative pop and rock.
Bryant Square Park 

Shows start at 6:30 p.m.


Tuesday, June 4 -- The Legendary Percolaters Band
  • 60s rock, blues, FUN and cowbells!
Thursday, June 6 -- Awkward Sorrows
  • Folk, bluegrass, country, roots trio.
