Find Neighborhood Summer Camps In Minneapolis

School's out...now what?

School’s out for the summer—that’s good news, right? More time to spend with the kids, more time for them to play with friends, run around outside…and to go stir-crazy.  We’ve rounded up a list of local summer day camps and classes to keep your little ones occupied and learning all summer long.

If you’ve participated in any of these, would you recommend them to others? Tell us why in the comments!

  • Nature classes from the Minneapolis Park Board: learn everything from how to live off the land, to how to garden and can, or go for a hike or a canoe ride. Search for openings and register on the Park Board’s website, and check out their other, non-nature summer opportunities for kids of all ages, plus youth sports.
  • The Bakken Museum: Join the Inventor’s Club, learn Lego robotics, or just hang out at their summer day camp.
  • I Heart Kids Art: The Linden Hills learning center is offering portrait and still life classes for ages 7 to 11.
  • : The Kingfield science exploration center has a dizzying array of classes, from robots and arduinos through welding and dissection.
  • : Learn how to be a rock star with their half-day rock band camps.
  • Heartfelt: This Linden Hills toy and craft shop is holding classes on everything from knitting to making fairy tree houses.
  • Center for Performing Arts: Located in Kingfield, the Center plays host this summer to classes and camps for musical toddlers, dance-minded youth, and kids of all ages interested in the visual arts.
