A wave of high temperatures is forecast to pass through Minnesota for a few days, which prompted the National Weather Service to issue an excessive heat warning for Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Washington, Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties.

The warning began noon Sunday, Aug. 25 and continues through Tuesday, Aug 27.

An excess heat warning means a prolonged period of “dangerously hot temperatures will occur,” according to the National Weather Service alert. Temperatures are forecast to continue in the high 90s through Tuesday with the heat index values into the 100s.
