Jeffrey Jones' 6 first-half touchdowns lead the way for the Millers
The Washburn football team improved its record to 4-1 (4-0 in the Minneapolis City Conference) over visiting Edison on Friday night. The Millers’ 67-8 victory was their highest point output of the season.
Sophomore Jeffrey Jones found the end zone early and often finishing the night with 170 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the game—all in the first half.
The defense was stout all night, only surrendering eight points in the third quarter. Junior Derek Schleicher helped lead the way with three interceptions.

The Millers continued to effectively run the ball in the second half. Sophomore Raymonte Edwards added two scores of more than 50 years in the third quarter. Fellow sophomore Tobias Knight capped the night off with a 95-yard run in the fourth.
The loss dropped Edison’s record to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the Minneapolis City Conference.

Next week the Millers will visit Wabasha-Kellogg (0-5,0-2).
