The Washburn High School football team defeated Belle Plaine 50-33 on Saturday in the Section 2AAA semifinals, earning a spot in the section championship on Friday.
The Millers will face Holy Family Catholic at 7 p.m. on Friday with a trip to state on the line.
Standout running back Jeffrey Jones scored four times in the game, running for touchdowns of 64, 8, 9 and 16 yards on the night. Antonio Ayala connected for three touchdown passes on the night, two of which were thrown to Kyle Hughes.

Washburn (7-2) now travels to Holy Family (9-1). The Fire won the section a year ago and seek back-to-back trips to state.
