Lakers Matmen Compete At Sectionals

Minneapolis Southwest wrestlers defeated by Richfield in opening round of Section 6AA team tournament.

The Minneapolis Southwest wrestling squad made a brief appearance in the Section 6AA team tournament on Saturday at Hopkins High School, falling in an opening-round match, 48-36, to Richfield.

The eighth-seeded Lakers were tied, 36-36, with the Spartans until losing by fall in their final two matches to go home without a victory on the day.

Next up for Southwest is the sectional individual tournament, scheduled to be held Feb. 25-26 at Minnetonka High School.
