RiverLake Greenway Grand Opening

Celebrate the grand opening of the RiverLake Greenway and stop by the MLK Park for bike decorating and an obstacle course.

However, family friendly events are planned all along the bicycle boulevard on 40th street from the Mississippi river to Lake Harriet from 1 to 5 p.m.

1:00 p.m.: Opening Program with special guests, Sabathani’s Drum Corps! at 42nd Street East and West River Parkway

1 to 5 p.m.: RiverLake Party Destinations

  • 2 to 3 pm: Longfellow, Hiawatha School Park - E 42nd St & S 43rd Ave S
  • 2:30 to 3:30 pm: Bancroft, Calvary Lutheran - E 39th St & Chicago Ave S
  • 3 to 4 pm: Kingfield, MLK Park - E 40th St & 1st Ave S for bike decorating and an obstacle course.

2 to 4 pm: Bike/Walk Fair at Sibley Park (E 40th St & 19th Ave S): Stop for concessions, learn about local bike walk programs, chat with area bicycle shops!
