Southwest High School Student One of 18 in U.S. Chosen for Program on Singapore and Malaysia

Nathaniel Larson is part of the American Youth Leadership Program (AYLP) with Singapore and Malaysia, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State.

Southwest High School student Nathaniel Larson is one of 18 students from around the United States selected the 2013 class of the American Youth Leadership Program (AYLP) with Singapore and Malaysia, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, according to a news release from Cultural Vistas.

Larson, a past National History Day first-place winner, was quoted in the news release from Cultural Vistas:

"Mostly applicants ask what a program can do for them, but in the case of AYLP, we get the chance to share our experiences with our communities with a post-travel project. This is one of the reasons I am excited about AYLP. ... This program combines elements of our topic of study—sustainable urban development—with interaction of the culture of Singapore and Malaysia, a duo that is, to me, irresistible."Learn more about Cultural Vistas and AYLP at culturalvistas.org
