Schools Issue Draft Calendar For 2013-2014 School Year
Last year's proposal created a minor uproar over extra school days.
This week, the Minneapolis Public Schools issued the draft proposal for next school year's calendar.
As with the 2012-2013 school year, school for grades one through 12 will start on the Monday of the last week of August (Aug. 26, 2013). Winter break will be seven school days long, and spring break will be five school days long. School for grades one through 11 will end June 3.
All schools will be in session at least 176 days next school year, under this proposal, posted above. Complaints, comments, and concerns should be directed to:Char Myers (MPS Calendar project manager) or Theresa Battle (Associate Superintendent for schools in Southwest Minneapolis).
