PHOTOS: Southwest, Washburn Cross-Country Teams Compete

Southwest boys take 4th and girls take 6th, Washburn girls take 11th and boys place 43rd at Roy Griak Invitational.

Southwest and Washburn High Schools sent both their boys and girls cross country teams to the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday. It is the largest annual outdoor meet held in the nation. 

The Southwest teams had a good showing, with the boys taking 4th in the maroon division and the girls placing 6th. Robin Fassett-Carman took ninth overall for the girls team. Although the boys didn't have any top 10 finishers, their top five all finished no higher than 73rd place.

For the Washburn teams, the girls took 11th place in the maroon division. Hannah Oscarson finished in 16th place for the team with a time of 20:06. The boys struggled in the maroon race and took 43rd place. Ethan Oscarson finished with the fastest time for the team at 17:49 to take 50th overall.
