Hard to see the action. Brand-new lockers already rusty. Too noisy.
Those are just some of the complaints parents are leveling at the newly rebuilt Southwest High School swimming pool, according to a new report in the Southwest Journal.
“What’s our return on investment?” one parent told the Journal, shouting as she struggled to be heard over the noise of a Sept. swim meet.
The pool's redesign was shoehorned into the old pool space, the Journal says, necessitating several design compromises. On top of that, the facility has become a near-daily stop for the school district's maintainence staff, with a dehumidifyer breaking down repeatedly.
