Burroughs Principal "Walks The Plank"

The "Dread Pirate Cadotte" rewarded his students' reading efforts with a piratical performance.

Tim Cadotte may be beloved by the parents at Burroughs Community School, but that didn't stop his students from demanding he be sent to Davey Jones' Locker Friday morning as their reward for beating their read-a-thon goal.

With the school gymnasium ringing with elementary schoolers's shouts of "Walk the plank!" Cadotte (dressed as a pirate) stepped off the side of his make-believe ship into a cardboard sea.

Burroughs students read 2,485,391 hours during the month of February, exceeding the challenge's target of 1,800,000 hours, showcasing either the students' devotion to literature, or their desire to off the principal.
