In past years, teachers from many local schools, including Ramsey Fine Arts Academy, Whittier International Elementary, and Lake Harriet Upper Campus, have been named candidates.

The selection panel meets again May 4 to conduct individual interviews with the 10 finalists and to cast votes for the 2013 winner. The winner will be announced May 5 at the Minneapolis Marriott Hotel.
