With Ranked Choice Voting in Play, Southside Pride Endorses Three Candidates for Mayor

The newspaper endorsed three candidates since voters can vote for three using ranked choice voting.

Southside Pride is one of the first community newspapers in Minneapolis to endorse a candidate (or rather three) for mayor.

The newspaper endorsed three candidates since voters can vote for three using ranked choice voting.

Southside Pride endorsed Doug Mann as first choice; Jaymie Kelly as second choice; and Betsy Hodges as third choice for mayor.

Here’s the link to the endorsement.

"No one is going to get elected mayor on the first ballot," the endorsement reads. "In order to get 50% plus 1, they will have to count the second and third choices.   So, this is a good chance to vote your hopes on the first and second ballot and your fears on the third."
