Winter Parking Restrictions Start Friday Morning

Starting 8 a.m., only park on the odd sides of non-snow emergency routes. This also applies to Bryant and Grand avenues in Southwest.

Unless someone invents a weather machine that can bring the temperature up enough to melt snow, it's likely that Minneapolitans will be required to follow Winter Parking Restrictions from 8 a.m. Friday until April 1.

This means you'll be required to park only on the odd sides of non-snow emergency routes—never on the even sides. These rules also apply to snow emergency routes of Grand and Bryant avenues in Southwest, because the accumulated snow has narrowed these streets too much for emergency vehicles to pass with cars parked on both sides.

Parking will be prohibited on the even sides of Bryant from Lake Street to 50th Street, and on Grand from Lake Street to 48th Street.

The parking restrictions allow streets to remain wide enough for two cars to pass safely at once.
