Park Board Road Closures Announced For The Next Six Months

Fundraising races, parades responsible for most closures.

Parades and fundraising rides may be a cherished (and fun!) part of life in Southwest Minneapolis, but they do have their downsides. This morning, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announced the event-related road closures from July through December of this year, and there are quite a few. Some highlights in Southwest:

  • Lake Harriet Parkway will be closed nine times between now and December 31st for a number of runs and parades
  • If you frequently use Lake Calhoun Parkway in your travels, you're in somewhat better shape. It will only be closed five times over the next six months.

The full list of closures is posted at right.
