Matt Perry Claims Endorsements From 2 City Council Members

The candidate for the Ward 13 council seat gave thanks on Facebook for support from the current Ward 6 and Ward 11 council members.

Ward 13 city council candidate Matt Perry announced endorsements for his campaign Monday from two sitting council members: John Quincy of Ward 11 and Robert Lillegren of Ward 6.

Perry posted on his campaign Facebook page:

I sincerely thank Councilmembers Robert Lilligren and John Quincy for their support. I am looking forward to working with them on the City Council on our shared concerns of development, transportation, the environment, community engagement and social justice issues.

Perry's Facebook post linked to a Southwest Journal report about the endorsements which cited testimonials from Lillegren (“Matt gets results by combining a grassroots approach to engagement with knowledge of how to get things done at City Hall") and Quincy (“His ability to support local businesses and his balanced vision for Minneapolis' infrastructure, uniquely qualifies him to be a great representative for the 13th Ward on the City Council").

The endorsements came a week after another elected official voiced support for Perry: Hennepin County Commissioner Gail Dorfman, who called Perry "an ideal representative for southwest Minneapolis."
