Local Business Leader Joins City Council Race

Matt Perry is head of the Nicollet-East Harriet Business Association.

According to the Southwest Journal, East Harriet resident Matt Perry has filed papers to run for Minneapolis City Council's Ward 13 seat.

Ward 13 covers most of Southwest Minneapolis.

Perry told the Journal that he would only run if Ward 13's current City Council Member Betsy Hodges ran for mayor. Hodges has filed campaign finance paperwork to run for mayor, but publicly stated she will only run if Mayor RT Ryabk does not seek another term in 2013.
