(LIVE VIDEO) Chris Kluwe Debating Chair Regarding Marriage Amendment

The Vikings punter invited at least 10 prominent Republicans to take part in a debate, though none took him up on the offer.

Opponent or not, Chris Kluwe is going to be debating Minnesota's proposed constitutional marriage amendment.

Kluwe—who said he sent invitations to 10 prominent Minnesota Republicans—is set to take part in a debate at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Brave New Workshop. Twin Cities radio personality Tom Barnard has signed on to act as moderator for the debate.

On Thursday afternoon, Kluwe took to Twitter to provide an update on whether he'd found an opponent.

"As of now the empty chair is still my leading debate opponent. We'll be at The Brave New Workshop tomorrow at 5pm to discuss things," he tweeted.

As it turns out, no-one from the "yes" side accepted an invitation to debate Kluwe, so actors from the Brave New Workshop will be reading quotes from prominent amendment supporters arguing in favor of writing a ban on same-sex marriage into Minnesota's constitutino.
