Linden Hills Road Construction Delayed

Sewer repairs need to be completed first.

While many of Linden Hills' streets have been resurfaced or rebuilt this summer and fall, it looks like a few streets will have to wait until next year.

According to documents prepared for a Minneapolis City Council committee meeting on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Council's sewer maintenance division is planning several major repairs to sewers in Linden Hills during 2013, including the replacement of several manhole structures and other repairs which would necessitate digging up parts of the road. In addition, the 3900 and 4000 blocks of Ewing Avenue South and the 4100 block of France Avenue South will have their sewer pipes completely replaced.

City engineers say it makes the most sense to delay portions of roadwork—and the special assessments levied on area homeowners to pay for it—until 2013.
