"So I guess people know by now that I'm running for mayor. Which is kind of remarkable because I haven't actually announced that I'm running for mayor. I mean, I sent out an announcement. I just haven't made an announcement. Today I have an announcement that I will be making an announcement that I'm running for mayor. Got that? Big event, big speech. All your friends are going to be there. So come on down."

Others running for mayor include Republican Cam Winton (a Fulton resident), former Hennepin County commissioner Mark Andrew, former city council president Jackie Cherryhomes, and city council members Gary Schiff and Don Samuels.
