Woman Who Kidnapped Baby from Minneapolis Home Faces Prison

A Minneapolis woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for kidnapping an acquaintance's baby in February.

A woman who kidnapped a baby boy from a south Minneapolis apartment was sentenced to three years in prison, according to a recent report.

Last month, Isabel Diaz-Castillo, 30, of Minneapolis pleaded guilty to kidnapping the 8-month-old boy in February. Diaz-Castillo grabbed the boy from his apartment on the 2100 block of Portland Avenue while his mother was showering, according to the Star Tribune.

Diaz-Castillo will most likely be deported after her sentence has been served. She has also received credit for 181 days served, the Star Tribune reports.
