Several Cars Broken Into By Lake Harriet Bandshell

A car was broken into overnight on the 4100 block of Lake Harriet Parkway, near the .

A Crystal resident reported a thief managed to unlock his car door some time between 10:30 p.m. and 3:20 a.m. and rummaged around the car looking for valuables. The car was parked on the 100 block of Diamond Lake Road

A car parked on the 3600 block of Elliot Avenue was struck by another car.

June 29

A burglar removed a small side window of a garage on the 3300 block of Harriet Avenue, and stole one maroon Xtracycle. Several other bikes in the garage went untouched

A CARAG resident called police two days after his car was broken into on the 3300 block of Harriet Avenue and a set of stereo speakers stolen out of the back. The victim told police he “knows for a fact” who is to blame because an anonymous tipster told him his speakers had been pawned at a store near the intersection of Franklin and Cedar Avenues.

A house on the 4600 block of Wentworth Avenue was broken into between 8:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

A car was damaged overnight by what appeared to be a large light bulb, thrown at the car door from the sidewalk.

A car on the 5400 block of Colfax Avenue was struck overnight and damaged.

A car parked on the 5100 block of Elliot Avenue was broken into overnight. The contents of the center console were shuffled around and an iPod was taken.

 

June 28

A garage on the 4300 block of Elliot Avenue was broken into. The burglar gained access to a car parked inside and took some loose change and three bicycles.

A resident of the 6100 block of Nicollet Avenue reported several prescription pain pills missing.

A car parked near the Lake Harriet Bandshell was broken into while its owners, two Bloomington residents, walked around the lake. Items belonging to one of the vehicle’s owners were taken.

A car parked five days ago on the 4400 block of Beard Avenue went missing. The owner told police they had not laid eyes on the car in the last two days. Police found no traces of smashed glass and the car’s keys were not missing.

Police were called to a business on the 6000 block of Lyndale Avenue by a report of a burglary in progress. Officers arrested one person coming out of the building and booked them into the Hennepin County Jail on burglary charges.

An unknown person unfastened the porch door of a house on the 3300 block of Humboldt Avenue, and climbed through the house’s window between 2:00 a.m. and 2:27 a.m. Unspecified belongings were taken from the house.
