Police Catch Naked Bathers At Lake Calhoun

Group was swimming at 3:00 a.m.

What do you do when you're bored at 3:00 a.m.?

Go skinny-dipping in the lake, of course.

Early on Saturday June 30, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department caught four young people swimming au naturale in Lake Calhoun at the 32nd Street Beach during a routine patrol. The four were between the ages of 24 and 26, and hailed from as nearby as the CARAG neighborhood and as far away as Chanhassen.

One admitted to police that he had a plastic bottle with him, filled with whiskey.

The four were cited for being in a city park after closing time and sent home.

OK, y'all: story time. What's the silliest or craziest thing you've done swimming or at the beach? (For me, it was going swimming in the Atlantic Ocean in late May/early June, during a strong rain storm, when the water, at 53 degrees, was just barely warmer than the air. Apparently, I looked like a blueberry when I came out.)

Sigh. Just last month. Got to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time in my 55 years of life and was SO excited I wanted to jump up and down in the waves and make them splash. The water was only up my ankles - at first - but up I jumped, in came a wave just as I came down and completely swept my feet out from under me. I had two thoughts immediately - "Oh S---" and "It's SALTY!" I ended up soaked, but we weren't far from the car where I had plenty of clean dry clothes. And my husband got some great pictures. Lesson learned.

Skinny dipping......why does ANYONE care!!!! We're all naked sometime, and at 3:00 AM, who CARES???? Catch some drug dealers or grafitti artists.

If you are looking to try something new, the clothes free lifestyle could be your answer to meeting new nudist friends who look just like everyone. http://Naturistmingle.com is the best choice for you! Nothing wrong with being naked as long as you enjoy it and can handle it. We are all born that way!

The most risque thing I've ever done swimming? Swimming au naturale in my bathtub. I'm from Minnesota when there is no legal, publically owned place to swim naked, donchaknow. You have to have money to join a club if you want to be naked in the Minnesota sunshine. It's the Minnesota Nice thing to force poor people to wear clothes at every single beach in Minnesota, but let rich people be naked outdoors, and then complain to the police if there's a naked person at a lake near your lovely home with property values that you want to protect. Yooooobetcha.
