Minneapolis Police Investigating Three Robberies

The robberies took place within blocks of one another.

Minneapolis police are investigating three robberies that took place within a few blocks in neighborhoods in the southern part of the city, the city announced Thursday.

The robberies took place between about 9:40 p.m. and 10 p.m. Nov. 8:

  • At about 9:40 p.m., a man approached a woman at 34th Street West and Harriet Avenue South who had just parked her car. The man showed her a gun and demanded her cell phone. She handed it over, and he fled. The woman was unhurt. This robber is described as a black man, between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-10-incheas, medium build, 20-25 years old, with a mask over his lower face.
  • At about 9:50 p.m., a man grabbed the shoulder of a woman who was walking her dog at 33rd Street West and Holmes Avenue South. The man displayed a gun and demanded her valuables. She screamed, and he fled without taking anything. The woman was unhurt. The robber is described as a black man, between 5-feet-5-inches and 5-feet-6-inches, medium build, 20-30 years old.
  • At about 10 p.m., two women walking on 32nd Street West near Bryant Avenue South saw two men get out of a vehicle. The men approached the women. One woman was hit in the head and her items were stolen. One of the suspects grabbed the other woman’s purse. She tried to hold onto the purse, and they struggled briefly before one of the men hit her. Her purse was stolen. The robbers are described as two black men, between 5-feet-10-inches and 6 feet, light builds, 25 to 30 years old, dark complexions, one with cornrows.

  • Not resist. Cooperate with the robber. Do whatever he asks but don’t volunteer to do anything else.
  • Remain calm in order to give police a better description. Observe the robber’s physical appearance, mannerisms, scars or marks, peculiarities, clothing, jewelry.
