Mar. 1

A Minneapolis woman called police to report her phone had been stolen from her pocket while she watched a performance at Washburn High School the night before.

A burglar struck a home's garage on the 3700 block of Aldrich Ave South overnight, carrying off a GPS unit and sunglasses. The side door had been left unlocked.

A driver from the 4700 block of Stevens Ave South woke to find a rock had been thrown through their car's passenger side window in the night.

An unfortunate driver left his car running while he bought a cup of coffee at the Super America gas station on the corner of Nicollet Ave and 35th Street. When he emerged from the store minutes later, the car had been stolen.

Just before 5 p.m., an unknown suspect snatched a laptop from the hands of a 22-year old woman outside Butter Bakery Cafe and dashed away.

The residents of a home on the 3900 block of Pillsbury Ave South returned home around 10 p.m. to find their back door kicked in and several items missing. Neighbors told police they hadn't seen anything.

A resident of the 3500 block of Grand Ave South reported a theft around 10:30 p.m.

A 27-year old man was standing outside a building on the 3300 block of Nicollet Ave South when two other men approached on foot. The first asked him for a cigarette, then took out a short knife and demanded the man's money. The victim told the pair he had no money and turned to flee. Before he could flee inside, he slipped on a patch of ice and fell to the ground. The robbers kicked and punched the man before disappearing into the night. According to the police report, the man did not need medical attention.

Mar. 2

A garage on the 3900 block of Lyndale Ave South was broken into through an unlocked side door. The burglar made off with a $400 bicycle.

A 24-year old woman confronted her boyfriend about his alleged infidelity in an apartment on the 3200 block of Nicollet Ave just before midnight. The man hit her in the face and took unspecified items before leaving.

A resident of the 3800 block of Aldrich Ave South reported their Lexus had been stolen from their driveway overnight. The culprit may have used a spare key which the victim kept in their other car, but which is now missing.

Mar. 3 

Burglars broke into a garage on the 3200 block of Lyndale Ave South overnight.

A security guard at Cub Foods reported a patron for shoplifting after he hid unspecified merchandise in his duffel bag, bought and consumed hot chicken wings at the store's deli, and only tried to pay for three bottles of soda that he'd also selected from the store's shelves. 

A patron at the Starbucks Coffee at the intersection of West 54th Street and Lyndale Ave South lost their laptop to a sticky-fingered fellow customer around 3 p.m. The suspects fled the scene in a car.

Mar. 4

Police were called to a house on the 3200 block of Colfax Ave South just before 9 p.m. after residents came home to find their front door kicked in. Police cleared the house without finding any suspects, and the residents said they couldn't find anything missing.

Police stopped a young-looking man on the 100 block of East 35th Street just after midnight, suspecting he was under 18 and out past curfew. The man turned out to be 25 years old, but police still arrested him, as he had multiple outstanding warrants.
