Lurkers Arrested in Attempted Burglary Claimed They Were 'Out for a Jog'

Two men were arrested March 16 in relation to an attempted burglary in Lynnhurst.

Police said that two men caught lurking March 16 in Lynnhurst claimed they were just “out for a jog,” despite wearing business casual outfits.

Police were responding to a call about an attempted burglary in which assailants pulled on a rear screen door of a house on the 4600 block of Emerson Avenue, and they found Berdis Taylor of St. Paul and Larry Marshall of Bloomington crouched in the lee of a house a few blocks away.

Taylor and Marshall were wearing slacks, dress shoes and sweaters, and police did not believe that they were, as they claimed, “out for a jog.”

Taylor and Marshall were booked into county jail. Both have an extensive criminal history that includes charges of burglary and thefts from autos, police said.
