Linden Hills Child Threatens Mother; Mother Calls Police

A roundup of this week's narcotics, traffic, and domestic violations in Southwest Minneapolis.

July 26

Shortly after 11 p.m., officers patrolling near the epicenter of last week’s rash of burglaries cited two 16-year olds and one 15 year-old for being out past curfew.

Just before midnight, police cited a 16-year old and a 17 year old skateboarding on the 4100 block of Chowen Avenue South for being out past curfew. The pair were transported home and released to their parents.

July 25

Officers were called to a home on the 4700 block of Xerxes Avenue South on a report of a domestic assault in progress. A 15-year old boy verbally threatened his mother, who called police because she feared for her safety.

A 20-year old resident of the Cleveland was arrested for shoplifting from Cub Foods. According to the police report, the man also had a half-empty bottle of vodka with him, and as his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, officers also cited him with underage drinking.

Officers assisted EMTs in treating a 28-year old Linden Hills resident found on the 4216 block of Dupont Avenue South with a head injury.

At 2:38 a.m., officers stopped a car traveling at high speed down the 4400 block of Stevens Avenue South. Standard identification checks revealed that one of the car’s passengers had an outstanding warrant from Hennepin County.

Officers cited a person for drinking alcohol at Thomas Beach

Officers cited drivers on West 58th Street, West 40th Street, and West 54th street for driving without licenses or proof of insurance.

Officers arrested a Lyndale resident on the 5600 block of Lyndale Avenue South for possession of narcotics.

Officers cited a person near the Lake Harriet Bandshell for possessing drug paraphernalia.

 

July 24

Police were called to assist the Minneapolis Fire Department when an apartment building on the 3500 block of Dupont Avenue South caught fire.

Officers were called to the intersection of Lake Harriet Parkway and Oliver Avenue on a report of a disturbance. Officers found a 50-year old Central resident there drinking. A standard identification check showed he had an outstanding warrant from St. Louis County

 

July 23

Officers patrolling near the Nicollet Avenue Cub Foods cited a 32-year old Hopkins man for misusing a handicapped placard owned by his elderly aunt, a Duluth resident.

Officers cited drivers at the intersection of Lyndale Avenue South and Vineland Place and the 4800 block of France Avenue South for driving without valid drivers licenses.

Officers rendered first aid to an 11-year old who got a cut on his foot at Thomas Beach.

Officers on patrol on the 5600 block of Lyndale Avenue stopped three men described in the police report as “suspicious.” Two were sitting in a parked car, and another was standing next to the car talking to the occupants. After checking their drivers’ licenses, officers discovered one of the men had an active warrant.

Officers patrolling near the scene of a string of recent garage burglaries stopped and cited three juveniles walking on the 4100 block of Zenith Avenue South for being out passed curfew. Officers transported the boys to the home of one of their parents.

 

July 22

Police were called to the 5900 block of Nicollet Avenue on the report of a domestic assault. The 22-year old suspect was transported to the Hennepin County Jail.

Police cited a 15-year old rider his bicycle on the 3700 block of Nicollet Avenue South for being out past curfew and possessing marijuana, a marijuana pipe, and a marijuana grinder.

Officers cited a driver on 58th Street for lacking a valid license or proof of insurance.

Police arrested a 42-year old man for fleeing officers on foot and on suspicion of illegally discharging a weapon.

A “suspicious” man was found slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle near the Lake Harriet Bandshell around noon. He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on an outstanding warrant.

 

July 21

Officers booked a 35-year old Chicago resident for possession of marijuana on the 3400 block of Nicollet Avenue South at 5 a.m.

Officers cited a driver on the 4200 block of Dupont Avenue South for not having current proof of insurance.

Sorry to say that you didn't have good information before moving to Minneapolis. Minneapolis isRead More plagued by crime, caused by the liberal mentality that prevents police from doing their jobs. Minneapolis and Hennepin County needs a strong sheriff, such as Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Arizona, to clean house and really crack down on the criminals that have destroyed vast swaths of Minneapolis.
