Punches, Purses Fly In Lyndale

Revenge seems to have been the motive.

A 27-year-old resident had invited a friend to her apartment on the 3500 block of Nicollet Avenue the afternoon of April 23.

But the friends started an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation, with the two pushing each other and both landing punches to the face.

Eventually the friend grabbed the Nicollet Avenue resident’s purse, containing a wallet and $50 cash, and fled on foot.

When police responded to the resident’s call they found her with a cracked fingernail, bleeding from its base.

She declined medical attention.

Until convicted, all people listed by police as suspected of committing a crime or listed as charged with a crime by county, state, or federal prosecutors should be considered innocent.
