Police say Michael Robert Funk was observed doing a hand-to-hand drug transaction on Nicollet Mall.

Southwest Minneapolis resident Michael Robert Funk, 23, has been charged with felony fifth-degree drug sales after police say he was observed making a drug transaction.

According to the criminal complaint, a Minneapolis police officer was working in plainclothes near 7th Street South on Nicollet Mall downtown when he saw a man, later identified as Funk, make a hand-to-hand transaction with another man. Police suspected that the transaction involved marijuana for money.

Prior to the transaction, Funk reportedly said, "I got dro" to the suspected buyer, which is the street name for hydrophonic marijuana, according to the complaint.
