Burglaries in Kingfield, Theft in Fulton

A roundup of crimes and incidents reported to and by officers of the Minneapolis Police Department. Nov. 11 and Nov. 12.

A burglar likely got the fright of his life when, instead of finding no one at home at a Kingfield house, he broke the window of an occupied house on the 4400 block of Blaisdell Avenue South around midnight on Nov. 12. According to a report filed by officers with the Minneapolis Police Department, the burglar managed to enter the residence before realizing he wasn't alone, at which point he fled.

A resident of an apartment building near the corner of 46th Street and Grand Avenue South reported that two young women broke into his building by "buzzing a bunch of people's doors until someone let them in." Once inside, they allegedly roamed the halls, picking up several packages and shoes from outside apartment doors. When he realized that the duo was trying to make off with his wife's boots, the man chased after the girls, who "proceeded to tell me they were on the job and flashed a crumpled business card." The police report is not specific, but it appears that the women gave the boots in question back before leaving.

Meanwhile, an Edina resident called police on Nov. 11 to report that her comforter and duvet cover were stolen out of a dryer the day before at Linden Hills Laundry after she left the business for an hour and a half to pick her son up from school and have lunch with him.
