Burglar Hits SW Minneapolis Apartment Building

Entryway rug is the only reported loss.

Monday night, a very unusual burglar visited an apartment building on the 500 block of West 35th Street.

According to a resident of the building, who called police shortly afterwards, an unknown man entered the building's stairwell around 10 p.m.

Surprisingly, the nefarious man stopped before he got to any of the doors to the building's units. Instead, he stooped down, scooped up the entry-way rug, and fled. The resident said the man fled in his vehicle.

The resident noted that around an hour earlier, he had received delivery of a pizza at the same address, but the report filed by officers with the Minneapolis Police Department didn't elaborate on the pizza's suspicious nature.

The incident has been recommended for further investigation, according to the police report.
