Arrest Made In String Of Parking Garage Robberies

Prosecutors are charging Charles Medgar Hall with property damage and theft.

Minneapolis police believe they've stopped a run of robberies of secured underground parking garages around the city.

Hennepin County prosecutors have charged Charles Medgar Hall, 48, with two counts of second-degree burglary. No information was available on how Hall reportedly gained access to the garages, but once inside, police claim, Hall smashed car windows and pried open car doors to get at the items inside.

Investigators suspect Hall in a total of nine burglaries, only one of which occurred in Southwest Minneapolis—on the 3500 block of Hennepin Avenue South. The remainder occurred in the Stevens Square, Kenwood and Whittier neighborhoods. The burglaries resulted in over $100,000 in damage and loss of property, including GPS units, stereos, golf clubs, bicycles, other items, and money.
