Arrest In Kingfield, Tangletown Drug Ring

Police suspect people were dealing heroin primarily from cars.

Police say they have arrested 25-year-old Gonzalo Tapia-Robles after an undercover investigation they described, in a written statement, as "exhausting."

Tapia-Robles is in Hennepin County Jail, charged with first-degree sale of narcotics. Police say they found a "significant amount" of heroin and cocaine when they arrested him. Investigators say Tapia-Robles also has a history of narcotics activity in multiple states and a current felony warrant for narcotics in Hennepin County.

The statement from police, issued Friday afternoon, didn't detail Tapia-Robles' position within the suspected drug ring, which police believe dealt primarily from vehicles and operated between Interstate 35W and Lyndale Avenue South, and between 40th and 50th streets in Kingfield and Tangletown.
